Route Option

1. Central Bali

  • Start with a visit to the 1000 year old village temple of Batuan with its beautiful carvings. The temple is an extraordinary example of classic architecture and is a Pura Desa(village temple) and Pura Puseh(ancestors temple) at the same time.
  • Drive on to the famous artist village of Ubud and continue – taking backroads-to the beautiful holy springs of Gunung Kawi Sebatu. The waters of the spring are used for ceremonies and also for irrigating the rice fields in the area.
  • Afterwards it is all uphill until you reach Kintamani with its spectacular prehistoric Batur volcano. A gigantic exposion about 28000 Years ago created a caldera with a size of 12 kilometers. The deepest part is filled with Balis largest sweetwater lake and later eruptions gave rise to Mout Batur 1700 meters high. The Batur area was recently included by UNESCO as a geo parek and world heritage site.
  • The highlight of the tour is a drive into the old Batur caldera with its black lava fields. Walk around bizarre lava formations and learn about the amazing geology of the place.
  • Back up at the rim enjoy a Balinese lunch buffet with unforgettable views of the area.
  • In the afternoon drive through quiet and unspoiled villages and visit a spice plantation where different flavoured coffees and teas are served.

2. West Bali

  • Leave early morning to avoid the traffic jams and drive to the monkey forest ALAS KEDATON: Be the first guests of the morning to meet the monkeys. They are most lively at this time. There is also a large population of flying foxes in the forest, some close enough to take great photos.
  • Another half hour drive takes you to the BUTTERFLY PARK. Wander amongst colourful butterflies, admire strange beetles and other curious insects.
  • A short drive takes you to the slopes of Mount Batukaru , Bali’s second highest volcano covered with primal rainforest. Visit a beautiful temple in the middle of the jungle and take a half hour hike through bamboo and giant trees to a fresh and clear river.
  • Ready for lunch? Feast on a sumptuous Balinese buffet in a restaurant with panoramic vistas of rice terraces.
  • Afterward stroll through a spice garden and have coffee, cacao and vanilla farming explained.
  • In the afternoon you will leisurely drive through Bali’s most spectacular countryside with extraordinary rice terraces. Eventually- on the way home- we visit a Balinese family compound.

3. East Bali
  • PURA KEHEN: Bangli. Probably  the most beautiful  temple  in Bali. Built in the 11th century, the temple hosts the biggest banyan tree of the island, a holy tree for the Balinese. The temple enshrines holy scripts and is decorated  with the most remarkable stone carvings.
    BESAKIH:You stop at the island‘s most mystical  and sacred  temple,  an ancient building to worship  the  ancestors. The most important temple of the island, located at the slope of over 9000 ft  reaching peak of Mount Agung volcano.
    SELAT:astonishing  rice  terraces,  with a spectacular  view. You will witness  the planting  and  harvesting  of rice in a way  the generations of Balinese  have  done  it for thousands  of  years. Your  guide will  explain  to you the world’s most astonishing  and biggest  irrigation  system.
    CANDI DASA:Lunch in a fine restaurant right on the beach. Swimming and snorkeling are also possible.
    TENGANAN: Bali Aga (Tribal) Village with  some astounishing traditions, dances , music, and strange rituals. This village has been an ethnological sensation, barely untouched by the surrounding Hindu culture. Tenganan  is renowned  for its unique weaving  techniques, which are used to produce the magic „Gerising“fabric, which is believed to aid  against sickness and evil powers.
    GOA LAWAH:  A batcave, which since the Stone Age has been a sacret place for the spirits of the lower worlds. The cave is inhabited by thousands of bats, and from giant snakes, which are honored as gods.
    SALT  PRODUCTION: An ancient method, still utilized today, of salt production will be demonstrated  at the black volcanic beaches of East Bali.
    KLUNGKUNG: Historical significant city, which was the residence of Bali’s highest raja, the Dewa Agung. The city and the palace get destroyed in 1908, when the Dutch decided to conquest the last independent kingdom in Bali.
    KERTA GOSA: Located  in Klungkung, the Kerta Gosa was the highest court of Bali. The 280 years old building is famous for its classic roof paintings.
